Description
Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) is seeking companies with the capability of designing, fabricating, and installation of a testing apparatus for the M88 A1 and M88 A2 Recovery Vehicle main recovery winch system after it is installed in a vehicle at ANAD. Anniston Army Depot is an overhaul facility for a wide range of armored combat tracked vehicles. Of these tracked vehicles, the M88 Hercules Recovery Vehicle has the capability to repair or replace damaged parts in fighting vehicles while under fire, as well as extricate vehicles that have been bogged down or entangled. It employs a main winch capable of single line recoveries of very heavy objects or vehicles. This vehicle also has a spade and a large A-frame boom that, when used in conjunction with the spade down, can be utilized for heavy lifting. The test apparatus will be used to accommodate testing requirements for the main winch recovery system, this test is described in the Final Inspection Report Record for the M88. The portions of the Final Inspection Record related to the testing of the main recovery winch have been pulled out of the test record can be furnished upon request. If your company has the capability to design, fabricate and install testing equipment such as this, you may request additional information by emailing sandra.e.turner@us.army.mil for additional information.
