- Contract No. FQ8001 IFB No. FQ8001/RLS ADVANCE NOTICE Date of Invitation: July 27, 2009 Pre-Bid Conference: August 26, 2009 Bid Opening: September 9, 2009 Project Description: Site Preparation for Replacement of SE Bus Garage <hr size="1" /> <hr size="1" /> Description of Work The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) requests your bid for solicitation IFB FQ8001/RLS, to provide Site Preparation of WMATA owned DC Village site per drawings and specifications. A fixed price contract will result from this solicitation for the items listed in the Unit Price Schedule. The contract duration is for 210 CD period starting from notice to proceed. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, project management, quality control, testing, transportation, safety, appurtenances and other items necessary for the Site Preparation Contract consisting of demolition of all building structures, including basements and foundations, within the proposed Bus Maintenance Facility property limits. This work includes pavement removal, utility abandonment/capping, utility relocation, installation of temporary construction entrances and access roadways, erosion and sediment control, temporary perimeter fencing with gates, temporary hallway barrier, new bus turnaround at truncated DC Village Lane, relocation of existing bus layover and bus stop and shelter, installation of clean fill material into basement cavities and installation of temporary field office facilities.. The estimated cost range is between $5 and $10 million. Contract and Specifications: Copies of the contract and specifications will be available on or about August 3, 2009 and furnished at $50.00 per copy. Payment for Documents will be by check or money order payable to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, reference IFB/FQ8001/RLS on the checks and submit to the WMATA Plans Room, Stone Straw Building, 900 Franklin St., N.E. Washington, D.C. 20017, ATTN: Dion Williams 202-269-4575, ext. 231. Please contact Dion Williams prior to pick up to assure document availability. A Pre-bid Conference will be held beginning at 9:30 a. m. on August 26, 2009, at the Jackson Graham Building (WMATA headquarters) 600 Fifth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001, in the Board Room, Lobby Level. Attendees will be escorted to the meeting room after security check in the Lobby. It is strongly recommended that all interested parties attend. It is requested that Bidders submit their questions in written form at the beginning of the Pre-bid Conference. A job site visit is scheduled following the pre-bid conference.
