Description
A Market Survey is being conducted to determine if there are interested and qualified Small Business, HUBZone small business, 8(a) small business, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned small business contractors for the following proposed project: Project Location Based on the location where the contractor will complete the required work. To dry-dock the LD-777, Henry Shreve, is a heavy lift crane with 550 ton lift capacity and displacement of approximately 7200 ton. The crane is mounted on a 300 x 100 x 14 molded hull barge that normally drafts 5 6. The crane and barge has an air draft of 61. Also, the crane has a companion barge, (LD-780) that is used for a test weight and pusher barge when the LD-777 is underway. The LD-780 is a 33 x 100 molded hull barge. These barges were launched in 2001 and were built to ABS, Maltese Cross A1 certified for River Service. The contractor shall dry-dock these barges at their facility to complete hull cleaning, inspections, repairs and apply new hull coating. Also, to complete structural hull removal and replacement, changing out the boom cable, installing catwalk on the boom, completing above deck painting and replacing walkways. This will be a service action. The Estimated Advertisement Date is 15 October 2009. The estimated Award Date is 30 November 2009. Contract duration is estimated to be 45 - 60 days and with an estimated cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 Construction cost limit is in excess of $1,000,000. This is the estimated construction award amount and does not include real estate, S&A, DDC or contingency. NAICS is 336611. Size limitation is 1000 employees. All interested Small Business, HUBZone small business, 8(a) small business, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned small business contractors should notify this office in writing by mail on or before 12 August 2009, 10:00 am Eastern Standard Time. Responses should include: (1) Identification as a Small Business or verification of the company by the Small Business Administration, as either a certified HUBZone, certified 8(a), or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business,, (2) The level of performance and payment bonding capacity that the company could attain for the proposed project, (3) Past Experience as a prime contractor Provide descriptions your firms past experience on projects of the same magnitude, construction complete or those projects completed within the last 5 years which are similar to this project in size, scope, and dollar value. a. Projects considered similar in scope to this project include: (type of construction - office, warehouse, labs, pre-engineered, maintenance shops, storage facilities, single story, multiple story, etc.) b. Projects similar in size will include: (magnitude approximate square footages of major features admin, storage, parking, etc.) c.
