- Description
- This intent of this project is to rollerchop pinyon-juniper and/or Gambel oak in the identified units. Several of the units will also have fireline constructed around them. The fireline will be placed on the outer edge of the chopped area and will consist of a scrape to mineral soil. This mineral soil scrape will average be between 2 feet and 4 feet wide and will not exceed 6 inches in depth. A 6-way blade that is tilted and angled to push trees to the inside of the unit may be able to construct this line while chopping the outer, perimeter pass on the unit. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, transportation, equipment and supplies (except government-furnished property) for performance of work under this contract. Necessary equipment includes a dozer capable of towing a roller chopper over the specified terrain to accomplish the job (normally a D-8). An organized site visit has been scheduled for Aug. 13, 2009 at 10:00am. Participants will meet at the Forest Supervisor’s Office in delta CO.
