Description
The Detroit VA Medical Center, is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Infectious Waste Services for the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. NAICS Code 562211, size standard $12.5 Million. 1. Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, waste processing, equipment, supplies, packaging, storage trailer, transportation, manifests, and reports necessary to remove and dispose of by incineration, infectious and cytotoxic waste from time of award through September 30, 2010 with four (4) one year option years from the VA Detroit Medical Center, 4646 John R Street, Detroit, Michigan 48201, in strict accordance with all specifications, schedules, terms, conditions, and provisions of this solicitation and any resulting contract document. General: The Contractor shall provide all labor/personnel, waste processing, equipment, supplies, packaging, storage (i.e., 40-foot trailer), manifests, and transportation services necessary for the disposal of the waste in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations, specifically Chapter 333 - MI public Health Code Part 138; and all terms and conditions of this contract. All red-bagged items, regardless of their condition, are being discarded by the Government and are considered to be infectious waste. Pickup shall be bi-weekly or as determined by the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) with removal commencing no later than 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding Federal Holidays) at the Receiving Dock. This procurement has been set-aside 100% for award to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Concerns (SDVOSB). Offers from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered and shall be rejected. Solicitation packages will be available on or about August 17, 2009.
