- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONTO TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE BLM FUELS REDUCTION IDIQ CONTRACT PER FAR 5.704 This contract requires cutting all Rocky Mountain junipers (juniper) along specified stream reaches in the Sweetwater Hills in southwest Montana. The requirement will be to cut all juniper trees within the defined area along 6.93 miles of stream (84.0 acres). All live juniper trees will be severed, regardless of size. Stump height will be 6 inches or less with any existing branches below 6 inches cut off. Cuts will be parallel to the ground to minimize pointed or sharp stumps. Pruning shears may be used on juniper saplings. No other species of trees or shrubs will be targeted. Other vegetation may be cut on a limited basis where clearing of vegetation is needed to access juniper trees. The work will be conducted between July 15 and October 31, 2009. This includes furnishing all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform the work. The work statement consists of completing the tasks
