- The Corps of Engineers has a need for a contract to replace bridge seats and bearings on five spans of the service bridge at the Loyalhanna Dam in southwestern Pennsylvania. (40 bridge bearings and seats) Work on the bridge seats will include removal and replacement of concrete below the bearing plates. Additional work on the project will be regalvanizing/or replacement of service bridge grating; replacement of service bridge floor plating; refurbishing gantry crane rails (blast & paint off-site) and re-installation with new rail accessories; refurbishing gate dogging devices for five dam gates. The period of performance will be between 365 and 500 calendar days. The NAICS for this job is 237990 and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. Magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This procurement is setaside for Hubzone. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately July 24, 2009, on-line only through Federal Business Opportunities; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specification and drawings will not be honored.
