- Description
- This procurement is to procure all labor, material, equipment, transportation, and supervision to replace three 750-HP high pressure steam boilers and associated equipment in Building 2210 that service the entire Maintenance Center at the Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA. The fulfilled requirement of replacing these boilers will provide steam on a continuous cycle to the Maintenance Center without risk of interruptions and will increase energy efficiency. The work also includes asbestos abatement associated with the demolition of the existing boilers, including removal and disposal of presumed asbestos containing gaskets, on the three boiler units within the Boiler complex.This acquisition to support the Navy mission was awarded sole source to an 8(a) certified firm in accordance with the Small Business Act, Section 8(a), (15 U.S.C. 637(a)) Business Development Program. Per 6.302 a J&A is not required for this award.
