- RECOVERY--RECOVERY - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting for the a major overhaul of a 4500 horsepower (HP) motor pump for the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier in Providence. Fox Point Hurricane Barrier provides cricial flood damage reduction to the entire downtown Providence, Rhode Island area. Main items of work include removal and reinstallation of the 4500 HP motor, removal and reinstallation of the entire pump assembly complete with a newly fabricated impeller and removal, inspection, resinstallation (replacement as required) of all internal compoents. This solicitation will be issued as unrestricted procurement. The estimated issue date for the solicitation is on or about August 10, 2009. Interested quotes can download the solicitation via the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). The due date for the bid will be stated in the request for quotations. Requests for n documents by telephone, fax, or email will not be honored. Instructions for quotation submissions will be provided in the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a quotation for consideration by the New England District.
