- NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for a Blanket PurchaseAgreement (BPA) for General Fabrication and Manufacturing Services. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1.The purpose of the BPA shall be to augment the NASA Glenn Research Center Machine Shop,Model Shop, Fabrication Shop, Instrumentation Shop, Inspection Department, facilities,and equipment.The Government will solicit fixed price quotes containing total costs, number of laborhours, cost per hour, material cost and delivery on proposed order conditions andspecifications. Quotes received will be reviewed and awarded based on the quote that isin the best interest of the Government. The contractor and any subcontractors shallperform only the work as specified in each order. The contractor shall manufacture,fabricate, and dimensionally inspect using either inch or metric dimensions. Furthermeasurement requirements will be described in the solicitation. Each order may include, but is not limited to, Machining, Fabrication, InstrumentationFabrication, Spaceflight Hardware Inspection, and Specialty Disciplines.The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 332510 and 500 employees, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFQ for NNC09ZDM026Q will be no later than October 1,2009.All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency atthat time.[OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED]An ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over theInternet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may beaccessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/GRCBusiness Opportunities page ishttp://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=22 Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer. It isthe offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of thesolicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible fordownloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
