- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITTAION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. In preparation for a future procurement, the 3rd Contracting Squadron on Elmendorf Air Force Base is performing market research to determine potential small businesses (including small businesses, 8(a) firms, HUBZones, and small disabled veteran owned) that can provide LED Road Condition Signs to be positioned on base to inform people originating on base of the road conditions, primarily during the winter months. The system must be controlled by a single point (the Elmendorf Command Center) by radio and have the ability to individually update each sign. The signs must be at least 12 ft wide x 1 ft tall and operate to -30° F. Four two-sided and one one-sided signs are required. Package must include the physical signs with various operating equipment (12 volt adapters, mechanical stands, cold weather kits, etc), shipping and handling to Elmendorf AFB, and necessary software and training. Equipment must be received by 4 September 2009 to allow for utilization this winter season. Installation will be completed by 3 WG/CES. The applicable NAICS code is 339950 with a size limitation standard of 500 employees. Interested companies that meet the requirements stated above should submit an electronic statement outlining their company's capability and capacity to perform the work. Also, firms should provide their business size status in accordance with the small business administration website (www.sba.gov) for the above referenced NAICS code they fall within (i.e. small businesses, 8(a) firms,HUBZones, small disabled veteran owned businesses, etc.) Please email statements of capabilities to A1C Bethany S.
