- RECOVERY--The work to be performed under this contract consists of dredging at various locations within the Mobile District. Sites will include deep draft projects, shall draft projects, inland waterways and the Intracoastal Waterway as well as coastal restoration projects, beach nourishment projects and any other project requiring the use of a dredge in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida. The scope also includes supplying dredge related supplies and equipment such as tugs, barges, cranes, geotextile tubes, sheetpile, land based heavy equipment for disposal operations and other marine equipment associated with channels and coastal restoration projects. The intent of this solicitation is to award to a large cutterhead pipeline dredge. The maximum dollar value of this contract shall not exceed $50,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 237990. The solicitation will be available for download approximately on 14 August 2009. The estimated cost of this project is between $25,000,000 and $50,000,000. The contracting officer is Mrs. Donna Parker. Note No. 1: All prospective contractors and their subcontractors and suppliers must be registered in Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) before they will be allowed to download solicitation information. Contractor must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award of this contract. Solicitation documents, plans and specifications will only be available via FedBizOpps. Registration for plans and specifications should be made via FedBizOpps Internet Homepage. If you are not registered, the United States government is not responsible for providing you with notifications of any changes to this solicitation. The solicitation will be available only as a direct download. This solicitation will not be issued on CD-ROM. Neither telephonic, mailed, nor fax requests will be accepted. Registration should be completed one week prior to the issue date. It is therefore the Contractors responsibility to monitor the website daily for the solicitation to be posted, and for any posted changes or amendments to this solicitation. The plans and specifications and all notifications of changes to this solicitation shall only be made through this posting and modifications hereto. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a printed-paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest. Note No. 2: All bid forms, bid bonds, and other normal documents required for the bid submittal, including amendments to the bid submittal, shall be in paper medium. Electronic medium for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed. Note No. 3: For this job, a small business is defined as having average annual receipts of less than $20,000,000 for the past three years. Note No. 4: Some Task Orders under this IDIQ may be funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Such Task Orders will be identified as being Recovery Act funded and detail any special requirements of the contractor related to the execution of such funds.
