- THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will be soliciting bids utilizing full and open competition for the DEMOLITION OF AN EXISTING PARKING LOT AND CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW BUILDING, EQUIPMENT STORAGE WAREHOUSE, AND PARKING STRUCTURE FOR THE FBI ACADEMY IN QUANTICO, VIRGINIA. This project consists of, but not limited to the following work; Sitework, concrete footings, concrete foundation walls, steel framed structure, interior architectural woodwork, metal doors and frames, interior architectural woodwork, exterior sheet waterproofing, steel metal doors and frames, wood doors, exterior sheet waterproofing, overhead coiling doors, aluminum windows, gypsum board assemblies, ceramic tile acoustical panel ceilings, resilient floor tile, painting toilet compartments and accessories, loading dock equipment, prefabricated aluminum ramp and stair system, fire alarm system, fire suppression system, mechanical and electrical systems, etc. The estimated cost of construction is over $15,000,000. Bid, Payment, and Performance bonds are required. The FBI contemplates the award of a firm-fixed price contract as a result of this requirement. The contractors wishing to receive Bid documents will be required to submit a refundable Bid deposit in order to receive the specifications and drawings for the project. The bidder awarded the resultant contract shall be subject to background investigations on its company and all individuals assigned to the project. No further project information is available at this time but will be published at a later date in the Fedbizopps. All inquiries pertaining to this pre-solicitation announcment shall be in writing to the FBI, Facilities Contracts Unit, Room 10254, 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20535, and marked to the attention of Mr. Richard I.
