- This synopsis serves as a revision to the synopsis posted on 29 July 2008. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source modification under Contract N00024-06-C-6248 to Kollmorgen Corporation, 347 King Street, Northampton, MA 01060-2390. This requirement is for up to four (4) Photonics Mast System Spares, one (1) Photonic Mast Variant, as well as shipping containers for the sensor unit, in support of the Photonics Mast Program (PMP). The PMP System is an electro-optical replacement for conventional periscopes to support the FY09-FY13 Virginia Class Platforms. Only Kollmorgen Corporation, Electro-Optical Division, possesses the in-depth knowledge and experience of the system necessary to accomplish the work without substantial duplication of cost to the United States and unacceptable delays to the operational availability of the Submarine Fleet. The additional effort will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Note 22.
