- Description
- NASA/GSFC has an established contract requirement to perform a scientificinvestigation that involves the development and use of scientific instrumentation capableof achieving the imaging goals of the James Webb Space Telescope in the near infraredwavelength regime, and will be modifying the contract to utilize American RecoveryReinvestment Act(ARRA) funds to provide for key elements of the contract performancethrough approximately September 30, 2009. These performance elements are focused on thecompletion of critical tasks( e.g. design, development and definition)for the NearInfrared Camera (NIRCam) instrument as well as completion of tasks for bonded opticalmount designs, Short Wave Engineering Test Unit integration, optical assembly, brassboard integration and assembly, first article reliability testing and planning and batchtesting.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from the University of Arizona, Tucson AZ, under the existing Contract that was awarded on July 17, 2002.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
