- HOUGHTON COUNTY, MICHIGAN This project will install independent fire and intrusion detection systems into the park's Keweenaw History Center (KHC) located in the former 1899 Calumet and Hecla (C&H) Mining Company Public Library building in he Calumet Unit of Keweenaw National Historical Park (KEWE). The new systems will improve guilding safety for the visiting public, archive researchers, park volunteers, and NPS staff. The project is being contracted to provide: 1) a zoned NFPA compliant fire detection system designed for the building; employing both smoke and heat detectors, that is tamper resistant, has uninterruptible power, and that is connected to local fire authorities; and 2) an ANSI compliant intrusion detection system designed for the buildin; e,ploying both perimeter and motion dectors, that is tampre resistant, has uninterruptible power, and that is connected to local law authorities.
