Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division requires and intends to procure on a sole source basis with GE Industrial Sensing (GEIS) for replacement high-accuracy insertion, duct, and room air temperature sensor assemblies including calibration under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) Only One Source Reasonable Available. Sensors to be procured are to support continued maintenance and operation of existing, installed control systems in the NIST Advanced Measurement Laboratory in rooms having a temperature control specification of +/- 0.10 deg-C and +/- 0.01 deg-C about the room air temperature setpoint. GEIS custom-manufactured the existing, installed sensors and maintains the proprietary rights to manufacture these sensor assemblies utilizing their laboratory-grade, ultra-stable, glass-encapsulated, negative-temperature-coefficient (NTC) thermistors accurate to +/-0.003 deg-C. Maintenance sensors must be of same type and construction as those currently installed. A firm fixed-price purchase order will be awarded on or about August 3, 2009 using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for quotes (RFQ) and a RFQ will not be issued. However, if an interested party has reason to believe it can meet or exceed this requirement they may submit sufficient documentation to support their claim of capability by August 3, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. EST. ===========================================================
