- Description
- The purpose of this notice is to determine the availability and level of interest of businesses for Concrete Modular Buildings for the Everglades National Park, Homestead, Florida. The U. S. Department of Interior, National Park Service (NPS) is seeking responses to this notice from all business types and encourages responses from small businesses as well as other socio-economic businesses as described at Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 19. Statement of Work: The concrete shall be 4000 psi with 28 day strength. The buildings shall have insulation values of R-12.9 for walls; R-22 for the floor; and R-22 for the roof. The buildings shall be manufactured in a plant setting under controlled construction procedures and shall be delivered to the site virtually finished with only connections, flooring and minor items to complete. Manufacturer shall be responsible for assembling the buildings completely on site. Buildings shall meet all current Florida Building Code requirements. The manufacturer shall be regularly and continuously engaged in the manufacture of concrete modular buildings and that manufacturer's testing facilities meet requirements of ASTM E329. Manufacturer shall be able to provide engineering design performed and sealed by a registered engineer, licensed to practice structural engineering in the state of Florida. The buildings shall consist of one 2,100 SF laboratory building with one bath; one 2,100 SF six bedroom, two bath dormitory; and one 1,300 SF three bedroom, two bath house. Buildings shall have 2 part self adhesive SBS flat roofs; exterior acrylic or silicone enhanced stucco finish; impact rated aluminum windows; lightning protection system; wet pipe fire protection system; and an HVAC system. Buildings shall be placed in Key Largo at mile marker 98. All interested parties shall submit Letters of Interest (LOI) to the attention of Laurie Chestnut, Contracting Officer, no later than 12:00 PM on August 18, 2009. The LOI should include a synopsis of the contractor's past performance in providing Concrete Modular Buildings including the client's contact information (contact, name, address, phone number), the location where the buildings were provided, and short details specific to the requirement. Contractors shall be prepared to offer references upon request by the government. Letters of Interest may be submitted electronically to laurie_chestnut@nps.gov or faxed to 404-562-3256.
