- General Decision Number: PA08004 Solicitation to include price schedule and contract clauses The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has the requirement for a project that involves the removal of existing tow haulage unit, guard fence, check posts and recess covers on land wall at Braddock L/D. A new Government Furnished tow haulage unit with controls will then be installed. A concrete overlay (1 ft thick) will be placed on the land wall and a portion of the esplanade pavement to accommodate the installation of the new tow haulage unit. The installation of new trench drain is necessary in the esplanade. New guard fence, check posts and recess covers will be installed on land wall. Pre-engineered equipment shelters (2 ea) with operator enclosure at tow haulage winch and power unit shall be installed. The removal and replacement of the existing tow haulage unit control building is necessary along with the removal and replacement of a jib crane. The magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This procurement will be advertised on an unrestricted basis. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately July 23, 2009 on-line only through the Federal Business Opportunities website; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored. Requests must be made by registering for this solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Once registered, vendors, plan rooms and printing companies will be able to download the solicitation and drawings on or after the above issuance date.
