- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCDD), intends to award a sole source contract to Alban Engine Power Systems, 6387 Old Washington Road, Elkridge, MD 21075-5308 for CLIN 0001 Service work (labor and materials); CLIN 002 Startup and training; CLIN 0003 Labor for assembly; CLIN 0004 Trailer and enclosure; CLIN 0005 Freight. Alban Engine Power Systems is who the generator was originally purchased from, a dealer of Caterpillar generators. This dealer has the necessary ability and intimate knowledge necessary to perform this conversion and they have successfully performed a nearly identical conversion in the past for the NSWC-DD. Award is to be made under simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13 as a Firm Fixed Price purchase order. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 335312 and the small business size standard is One Thousand Employees. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSITITUES THE ONLY REQUEST FOR QUOTATION, AS ALL ITEMS ARE SPECIFIED UNDER THIS NOTICE AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This synopsis will close on 18 August 2009 at noon ET. Please use reference number N00178-09-Q-3048 when responding to this announcement. In order to be eligible for award firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). Vendors may obtain information on registration in the CCR by calling 1-888-227-2423, or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. Please note that defense payment offices may not make payment unless the contractor is established to receive electronic funds transfer (EFT). EFT payments are based on the contractor's EFT information contained in the CCR database.
