Description
Response to questions recevied regarding Solicitation No. RMH00090035. Question 1. "Item #C page 3 of 5 indicates "Furnish and install 1,650 YD of SHAW..." - does this quantity include the waste amount that is common for carpet installations or of 1,650 YD is net floor area ?" RESPONSE: 1,650 YD is the approx. net floor area for the carpet installation not including the waste amount. Question 2. "Carpet with enhancer backing requires special order and generally takes much longer than regular carpet delivery time. If we assume contract is awarded on 08-06-2009, the carpet may not be in California for at least 4 to 5 weeks, what is the solution since the bid documents indicates start date on 08-10-2009, and end date 08-21-2009 ?" RESPONSE: The Government establsihed the ending date of 08-21-2009, as the necessary ending date due to the onset of the instructional school year, when students would be occupying the building. The Government is expected to work with the realistic contractor's delivery time, and consider an extension of time if necessary. Question 3. "We are a licensed C-21 contractor and would like to know if this is sufficient to bid as a prime and if there are any other special requirement in order to bid." RESPONSE: Under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 52.212-04 Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items, (q) - it reads: "Other compliances. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable Federal, State and local laws, executive orders, rules and regulations applicable to its performance under this contract." This means that a cognizant responsible contractor is to know the demolition industry standard and applicable local regulation for the project site, including the appropriate licensing level requirement. Under the solicitation document, we are encouraging serious quoters to schedule a site site.
