- Description
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Professional Surveying, Mapping and Engineering Services and Support. The primary area of focus for this contract is the eastern portion of the United States, however, can be used to support the entire NAVFAC LANT AOR, which includes the entire continental United States (CONUS), Caribbean, and outside continental United States (OCONUS), including Europe, Africa, Western Asia, and South America. Some task orders occasionally may address non-Navy sites or other Navy regions outside the primary area of focus including the remaining NAVFAC LANT AOR and NAVFAC Pacific AOR to support joint service or global efforts. The primary tasks anticipated under this contract are: a.) Development of surveys and mapping associated with the planning and development of real property. b.) Creation of vector data through feature extraction (e.g. digitizing features from aerial photography or satellite imagery) including environmental features such as wetland boundaries, invasive species and/or endangered species habitat. c.) Development of geometric networks for utility systems and the field verification/population of attributes for utility equipment. d.) Research of records, documentation of metadata and field data collection (e.g. use of conventional surveying techniques, Global Positioning Systems, ground penetrating radar). e.) Geospatial data acquisition and feature development through remote sensing techniques (e.g. satellite imagery, LIDAR, digital orthophotography, hyperspectral imagery). f.) Geospatial feature and theme development (e.g. Develop thematic deliverables such as land use or land coverage maps). g.) Aerial flyovers and imagery analysis (e.g. Perform flyovers and change detection). h.) Training of personnel, documentation of GIS data, as well as preparation of user guides and manuals on using GIS software deliverables. i.) Writing of technical reports pertaining to GIS systems development and needs. j.) Database design and development, data modeling, database administration, development and/or implementation of geographic information system applications for various systems and uses. k.) Geospatial data Integration (e.g. Integrate geospatial data with current and future Navy Asset Management Systems). l.) System Development (e.g. User interface design and system integration with current and future Navy Asset Management Systems). m.) Update and maintenance of Geographical Information Systems data to support other business processes (e.g. geo-referencing floor plans to support AT/FP or space management).
