- The National Park Service, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Part, has identified a requirement to solicit the purchase and delivery of an asphalt crack sealer - oil jacketed, thermostatically controlled, melter applicator. This combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items has been prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is Q8564090127 and is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-35, dated July 14 2009. This solicitation is set-aside for small business. The North American Standard Industrial Classifications System Code is 333120 and the small business size is less than 750 employees. General Description:Oil jacketed, thermostatically controlled, melter applicator, specifically designed for and capable of heating and applying all grades of asphalt rubber sealant and hot pour crack and joint sealants without further equipment modification. Machine shall be capable of starting at ambient temperature and bringing sealant materials up to application temperatures in one hour or less at 70 degree ambient temperature and shall have continuous material agitation and mixing system to provide uniform viscosity and temperature of material being applied. *Requirements:Commercial Item, manufacturer's current production model. Qualified bidder must have and maintain a complete inventory of repair parts and have experienced factory trained service personnel for this equipment. Make available a factory -trained person for initial start- up and onsite training in the operation of the melter. Supply a comprehensive safety manual and operation/maintenance manual with unit. Also include an industrial standard warranty.
