Description
This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because this is a task/delivery order where an exception to fair opportunity requirements was approved as this is a follow-on order to a competitive initial order (FAR 8.405-6(b)(2) or 16.505(b)(2)(iii). This notice is for information purposes only. This opportunity is available only to Computational Hydraulics and Transport LLC under contract W912P8-06-D-0110: Independent Technical Review of the Morganza to the Gulf System Wide TABS-MD Model. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division, New Orleans District (MVN), requires a Contractor to perform independent technical review of a TABS-MD model (hydrodynamic and salinity analyses) for the Morganza to the Gulf Hurricane Protection Projects completed by the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC). The Morganza, Louisiana, to the Gulf of Mexico Hurricane Protection Project is located approximately 60 miles south of New Orleans, and includes portions of Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes. The area is bounded on the west by Bayou Du Large and State Highway 311 and on the east by Bayou Lafourche and on the south by the Gulf of Mexico. The purpose of the Hurricane Protection Project is to reduce hurricane and flood damages in an environmentally sustainable manner in the Houma area and protect development and the remaining fragile marsh from hurricane storm surge. Computational Hydraulics and Transport, LLC (CHT), will be given the verified Morganza to the Gulf Systemwide TABS-MD model that was prepared by ERDC for the Hurricane Protection Project to conduct an independent technical review. The model analyzes hydrodynamic and salinity conditions in the study area. ERDC will also model hydrodynamic and salinity conditions with the proposed levee alignment in place with the alternatives that were determined by the Habitat Evaluation Team (HET).
