- NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Pittsburgh PA, OMSHR and the Pittsburgh Research Laboratories hereby announces its intent to issue a purchase order to Thermo Environmental Instruments, Inc. for: 5 - PDM 3600 Personal Dust Monitors consisting of: the PDM Instrument, the necessary accessory kit and additional replacement filters. Accessory kit (P/N 59-009900) includes: Box of 20 TEOM filters, five peel-away scratch-protection overlays for the display, filter exchange tool, 7/64" hex screwdriver, 2.5mm hex screwdriver, flow calibration kit, 2 cap lamp bulbs, 10 spacer shims, leak check plug, leak check suction cup, operation manual, laminated quick-start guide and a CD-ROM containing operating manual, WinPDM software, firmware and Adobe Reader. Future silica monitoring studies at NIOSH require a replacement of existing "Prototype PDM 3600"- gravimetric based end-of-shift dust monitors that directly measure mass, developed by Rupprecht & Patashnick (R&P: TEOM Series 3600 Personal Dust Monitors (PDM)) with current commercially available (exact replacement) monitors. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written item description/item characteristics and pricing information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. Please forward the item description and pricing information to James Ambrozic, Purchasing Agent, Reference: 00HCCMBE-2009-73389, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Acquisition and Assistance Field Branch (Pittsburgh), PO Box 18070, Cochrans Mill Road, Pittsburgh. All vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to an award of a federal contract. The website is: www.ccr.gov. The Government will review any/all item descriptions and pricing information submitted and determine if other qualified sources do exist that could provide this requirement. Information received in response will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), negotiations will be conducted with Thermo Environmental Instruments, Inc. 27 Forge Parkway, Franklin, MA 02038 as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
