- Description
- 1.Da-Lite Screen Case in specification part # 96389L is too long to fit into existing Soffit. Case size is 201 1/2 Existing soffit is 191 Also the specification states this is a tensioned screen. The model listed is not a tensioned screen. The specified screen has a Da-Mat surface. We feel that this needs to be a surface with a much higher reflectivity due to the long throw of the projector. (Pearlescent) Please clarify model number required **There is no REQUIRED model #, but this is a level of quality required. The contractor may select a model that meets or exceeds this level of quality, and also fits the space provided. This is not a tensioned screen. 2.Specification section 3.02 A5 states, contractor to provide all 120volt requirements, conduit, connectors and fittings Does this mean the contactor is specifying needed requirements, or that the contractor is to install the necessary requirements. This would be considered high voltage and should be done by an electrical contactor. Please clarify. **The contractor must provide/install all needed electrical requirements to support the installation of the audio/visual system. If a sub-contracted electrician is needed, this will be at the expense of the contractor, so this must be considered in the cost of the bid. 3. Specification section 3.02A27 states, provide bass loudspeaker compliment and processor There are none specified in the equipment list. Please clarify **Bose 502 B is the bass loudspeaker that is the minimum level of quality for this contract. The contractor must meet or exceed this. 4. Can the Tannoy i12 speakers presently being used for podium and lectern fold back be tested for operation and reused. **The Tannoyi12 speakers are to be replaced per the statement of work. The existing speakers may be reused in another facility at the discretion of the government, and therefore will remain in the possession of the U.S. Government. 5. Specification section 2.02F 9 calls for (2) QSC powered monitor (choir fold back) No model number is stated Please clarify **The specifications are listed so that the contractor selects a compatible model or better. There is no mandate of a specific model or brand per se as long as the contractor matches or exceeds the specifications. 6. There were no rack elevation drawings in the bid package. Is this to be left up to the A/V contractor? **The contractor and the project officer will work together during the installation process to discuss any design issues that are required, like the rack elevation. 7. Specification section 2.02F 7 states, Replace existing mixing console with digital, 24x4 with GUI and scene memory Is the intent of this to be able to allow the chapel staff to be able to recall presets and not have to use the operators position? Please clarify. ***There will always be a human operator in the sound booth manning the mixing console. The contractor is required to train the operators at least twice during the first year, as specified in the Statement of Work. Please refer also to section 3.01 A 1-4 for more information on presets and settings. 8. The equipment list calls for (8) Bose MA-12 speakers. Is the intent of this to have a delayed system, (1) speaker per column on each side? Please clarify ***No. No delay is required due to the proximity of the speakers to the audience. Yes, 1 speaker per column on each side will provide for adequate spacing for sound distribution, and this is the intent. 9. Was this RFP designed or spec by a consultant, if so who? Are we mounting the projector or are they? **The Command Chaplains office provided the specs to the contracting office as well as the required design/placement for the AV system based on market research. The projector will be mounted by the contractor. 10.I noticed an existing screen are we taking it down or are they? **Contractor will need to take down the existing screen when replacing it with the new one. The Government will supply a lift if necessary. 11.Do they plan on adding any acoustic treatment to the walls? **No, not at this time. 12.Is there physical access to bring in a large lift for speaker placement, more specifically, are there double doors with no center bar on the interior and exterior? According to the paperwork they are providing it. What are the details of the lift? **The existing double doors in the chapel have a removable center bar, thereby allowing access by a lift to the chapel. The lift that the government has available for use reaches all the way to the top of the chapel ceiling, and does fit through the doors. 13.Do they require CAD drawings of the finished product? **No 14.Do they require audio testing be done for the system (input clipping, frequency response, harmonic distortion, signal to noise ratio, signal to crosstalk ratio, etc&) ***Please refer to section 3.03 in the Statement of Work for all audio testing that is required. 15.Do they require certifications for the installers? **The general contractor shall be properly certified for all components to be installed, and will provide adequate supervision to the installers to ensure proper function, practice, and procedure of the installation. 16.Do they require certain wiring or grounding practices according to electrical code? ***Yes, all electrical practices and installation must be up to electrical code 17. Do they require cable labeling, if so what method? ***No labeling is required 18.Who can verify the electrical provided to the rack will sustain the new equipment and that they are on dedicated circuits not sharing a ground with anything else in the building. ***The integration and verification of the existing equipment with the new equipment is the responsibility of the contractor. This therefore needs to be considered in the bid. 19.According to the equipment list they are keeping their existing mixing console, according to the scope of work they want a new one. Which one is it? ***The SOW calls for a new mixer to be installed with the new system in Soldiers Memorial Chapel. The existing mixer will be retained by the government, and installed at a later time in a different facility, but this is not part of this contract. 20.According to section 3.02 installation A.8 they require the contractor to provide millwork casing for mixing position, we need a lot more information. Is this for audio mixing, video mixing or the entire booth? ***This is for the entire booth, to ensure a professional and finished appearance upon completion of the installation. 21.Are we supposed to update, upgrade or completely redo the AMX programming already in place, if so we need a detailed list of what the AMX processor is, what all of its connections or capabilities are, what cards have been added to its chassis? ***We are eliminating the AMX system altogether along with the touch screen. 22.Can drawings(blueprints or diagrams) of the Chapel be provided? ***No blueprints or diagrams are known to exist. 23. Where is the location of the amplifiers for the speakers and model #s? ***The amplifiers are located in the back room behind the sanctuary, and the contractor will have access to the model numbers during the installation process 24.Is the crawl space accessible? ***Yes, the crawl space is accessible, and is located partially under the chapel. 25.Moving the projector to the rear of the chapel will require an electrical outlet high on the wall. Generally, DPW is responsible for any 120 volt power additions on Post. Is this going to be an exception? **The contractor must provide/install all needed electrical requirements to support the installation of the audio/visual system. If a sub-contracted electrician is needed, this will be at the expense of the contractor, so this must be considered in the cost of the bid. ***Control panel is only at the back of the Chapel*** ***Purpose of the two training sessions is to training incoming chaplains on the sound system. Chaplains are always rotating in and out of Fort Carson and need to be trained. *** ***DPW(the Government) will coordinate a lift for the chapel*** The Period of Performance for installation shall be anytime Monday thru Friday before September 30th, 2009.
