- Solicitation Westinghouse Anniston (WA) is soliciting the services of a qualified leak seal contractor to seal a leaking 1" flange connection.  Contractor to provide labor, materials, and equipment necessary to leak seal a 1" flanged joint above 24-FE-828 on the ground floor of the LIC PAS. Piping is constructed of Hastelloy.  Flow must be maintained through the flange during the repairs and precautions should be taken to ensure compound does not enter process system.  Use of appropriate PPE shall be utilized during the repairs. The product is 18% caustic. Process medium from the adjacent 4" line is brine cooling water at approximately 180 deg. F.  This leak is currently "AQUAWRAPPED". The contractor will need to completely remove the AQUAWRAP prior to making repairs.  Leak sealing compound must be pre-approved by ANCDF Safety Department.  Site approved products: Furmanite FSC-44D (Ref Lab Sample L06868) and AquaWrap® or AquaPreg® (Ref MSDS WA-01872),  Products other than the ones listed above must have a product sample submitted (with MSDS) to the LAB to be tested for agent interference five days prior to commencement of work.  There shall be no deviation from the original scope except as allowed through WANCDF Engineering, Contracts, and/or organization as required depending on the changes being recommended.  Contractor(s) will participate in the Pre-Job Briefings to insure that good communications is established with WANCDF Contracts and Maintenance departments before any work begins. Extreme caution shall be taken to insure that unplanned outages will not occur.
