Description
The Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or VA"),located at 1201 NW 16 St Miami, FL 33125, intends to release acompetitive Request for Proposals (RFP) numbered VA-248-09-RP-0365, fora project entitled Re-Connect the ALCO Generator Located in BuildingNo. 1. The current intention of the VA is to procure these servicescompetitively via a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business(SDVOSB) set-aside. This is intended to be a competitive RFP, meaningthat interested offerors shall maintain a licensed professionalelectrician on this project and ensure that all work is accomplished inaccordance with the National Electric Code (NEC), UnderwritersLaboratories, Inc. (UL), and all other applicable federal, state andlocal codes. The VA intends to release this RFP with competition restrictedcompletely to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. Theapplicable NAICS code will be 238210, "Electrical Contractors," with anapplicable small business size standard of $14 Million. The magnitude of the project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 The Period of Performance is expected to be one hundred eighty (180)days Performance and payment bond will be required within 15 days of award.The VA anticipates the use of a "best value/tradeoffs" evaluation methodthat will include both an analysis of price and past constructionperformance, on similar type and magnitude and well evaluation of thecredentials and qualifications of the selected licensed professionalelectrician. The Request for Proposal is expected to be released on or about 14 May2009, unless this notice is modified, the full RFP will be posted tothe Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov) sometime between thatdate and the end of May. This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitivesolicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203.
