- AMENDMENT NO. 1 The following are questions from the site visit and the answers. The Bid Date and Time Remain unchanged: Q1. Will the green houses be empty or will the existing tables cabinets, etc be remaining in them while they are installing the required electrical components? A1. Existing tables, cabinets, etc will remain while they are installing required components. It may be possible to move some of the items, with prior approval, if needed to install electrical components. Q2. Will there be any research going on in the green houses that may interfere with their work? A2. Research will be ongoing in those greenhouse bays where plants are currently located. The greenhouse bays are currently empty probably can remain empty until November 1. Q3. Are we to use GFCI protected outlets at each location shown on the drawings? A3 Yes Q4. Are the covers to be cast in-use covers for these GFCI outlets? A4 NoQ5. Will the existing electrical system need to be brought up to code? A5 All new work to be in compliance with contract documents.( NEC included) Q6. Are we to include demo of electrical systems not being re-used? A6. No, Only components affected by work. Q7. If a conduit system that is to be re-used shows signs of rust, are we to replace it with new or use as A7. Conduit to be reused unless replacement is warranted on a case by case basis. Q8. Are the greenhouses going to be occupied with personnel or growth? A8. Greenhouse bays will be empty. Q9. We need to request a light fixture schedule for mounting requirements and weights. A9. No fight fixtures in project. Q10. Will the new system be inspected by Federal inspectors or local AHJ? A10. The contracting officer officers representative. Q11. Will a new rack system be required to mount the grow lights? A11. No Q12. If a new rack system will be required who will be engineering the system for structural loads? A12. Not needed. Q13. How will conduit be attached? A13. See specifications. Q14 Will there be a unistrut light grid installed to attach receptacles to? A14. Receptacles to attached to greenhouse frame with hardware needed. Q15 If so, how will the unistrut light grid be attached to the structure? A15. See 14 Q16 What distance should this light grid be from floor level? A16.See 14 Q17 The receptacle we are to provide needs to be specified. The plug receptacle type supplied by the HID light manufacturer should be identified to install correct receptacle. A17. Contractor shall field verify receptacle type prior to ordering twist lock receptacles. Q18. The weight of each light will impose a load on the structure. Will the USDA take responsibility to assure existing structure can carry the additional load? A18. Lighting exists no new lighting. Q19. On Dwg 3 E1, E2 note E tells us to provide HOA switch for each bay, with the auto to be from controller. What controller is this? Where is it shown on the plans? A19. Each bay has an existing Greenhouse Control system. See keyed note 1 for location. Q20. Are all the receptacles on Dwg E-2 to be twist lock receptacles? The symbol on the dwg's is for a standard duplex. A20. Twist lock, Field verify prior to ordering. Q21. What is the NEMA style to be used? A21. 20 amp 2 pole twist lock, field verify prior to ordering Q22. The Existing 480V pnl to supply the new T-6 ref. Dwg.E4, is this # HD? A22.Location shown on E2. Q23. The new 480V / 120-208V Transf. #T-6 is there any spec's for this Transf., I.E. is it copper wound or Alum., does it have any changeable taps, ECT? A23. NEMA ST 20, general purpose dry type, self cooled ventilated. Provide in NEMA 1 enclosure, 220 deg C insulation system. Temp rise not to exceed 80 deg C. Q24. In spec. 16034-3-4.3 is for GFCI receptacles there is no spec on the Twist Lock receptacles or the standard duplex receptacles. A24. Receptacles to be heavy duty spec grade type, Lighting receptacles as per dwgs. Q25 Which if any of the receptacles are to be GFCI? A25. all new receptacles. Q26. On dwg. E2 calls for adding 3/way switches to be added in the two walkways, during the site visit I noticed that these conduit runs are in rigid conduit and it has some explosion proof fittings, and some wet location fittings? A26. SEE 27 Q27. What will be the requirements for the new added 3/way switches? A27. Wet location fittings Q28. In spec 16001- 1.1.6 - will there be any permits or city inspection that will be required for this work? Or will it be just inspected by the GOV COTR. And meet all the plans & spec's requirements? A28. COTR Only.
