Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Portland, Oregon, has a requirement to plant approximately 255,600 native riparian plants including bareroots, tubelings, and gallon container plants of multiple species. Plantings to take place over two project periods. The first shall be mid-January to early March 2010 (actual dates depending upon weather conditions) and the second shall be mid-January to early March 2011. Approximately 68,100 plants estimated for planting in 2010 and approximately 187,500 in 2011. Split project period is necessary to allow contract growing of required plants. Contractor to plant shrubs by hand using planting shovels. USFWS to provide plant materials. Project areas will include numerous spring-stream sites on ALE, wasteways and creekways on Wahluke and SMNWR, and along the shore of the Columbia River. ALE stands for the Fitzner-Eberhardt Arid Lands Ecology Reserve resource management unit, Handford Reach National Monument, located east of the Yakima River and west of the Columbia River. This will be a "best value" procurement with award based on past performance, experience and price. Solicitation number: 101819Q940 may be viewed thru a link to the National Business Center Interior Electronic Acquisition System-Electronic Commerce at "http://www.fedbizopps.gov" or "http://www.nbc.gov". No further notice will be posted on Fedbizopps. The solicitation response date will be approximately 17 days from posting date.
