- RECOVERY -- This is a Notice of Intent to award a task order under an existing Multiple Award IDIQ Contract. This task order will be awarded in accordance with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PREVIOUSLY AWARDED IDIQ MULTIPLE AWARD CONTRACT FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATIONS, REPAIRS AND REHABILITATION OF VARIOUS FACILITIES, BETHESDA, MD, POOLESVILLE AND OTHER ASSOCIATED LOCATIONS IN THE METRO/BALTIMORE AREA. An Invitation for Bid (IFB) will only be sent to the four (4) vendors identified under this existing Multiple Award IDIQ Contract (Forrester Construction Company, John C. Grimberg Company, Inc., SKANSKA USA Building, Inc., and TISHMAN Construction Corporation). A task order will be issued to the winner of the task order competition to " Improve Building 12 Center for Information Technology Electrical Reliability - Phase 2, NIH Bethesda, MD." GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK (WORK REQUEST No. HQC80147): This second phase of the Center for Information Technology (CIT) Building No. 12 Infrastructure Upgrade will provide the minimum redundancy required achieving the designed system capacity (2880 KVA NO-Break & 1400 KVA Short-Break). Once Commissioned the Data Center may begin transitioning from its old distribution to this new direct connect, diesel rotary continuous power system. The general types of work will be minor architectural, select demo, cooling for the expanded digital static transfer switch room via redundant AC units utilizing existing chilled water lines as specified. Electrical includes select demo, three source static transfer switches, containerized continuous power system, modifications to fire alarm system and other work as identified in the plans and specifications. Per FAR 36.204 the magnitude of construction is between $5 million and $10 million.
