Description
This synopsis if for Sole Source 8(a)Full Set Aside only (contractor has been pre-selected). This project will result in a Design-Build Firm Fixed Price Contract. provide HVAC and life safetyupgrades required to accommodate the recent construction ofan Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Building 1200 byothers. The project will provide an independent HVAC system in theEOC space and reconfigure the existing building HVAC systemducting and controls as required to separate the EOC area from the main building service. Integrate the control of the new system with the existing building DDC controls and provide updated control drawings and graphics. Cooling controls shall be interlocked to prevent simultaneous heating and cooling of the space. Cooling shall include computer equipment closets. Ventilate electrical closets when AC is not required for EOC space. Provide a wet pipe fire suppression system throughout Building 1200. The sprinkler system shall be designed and installed in accordance with engineering systems requirements identified in Section 4 below, and in Part 4, Section D40. Design and install fire suppression system to provide complete coverage with consideration to concealed spaces, piping, electrical equipment, mechanical and electrical rooms, ducts and other building features.Maintain existing 2 hour fire separation walls between EOC and rest of facility as required by current code. Fire separation includes opening protection to maintain fire separation wall requirement. The above summaries of work are for the purpose of generalproject information and not intended to include and describe every feature or item of work required to complete the project. It is expected that the Contractor and the Designer of Record (DOR) will visit the site of work and thoroughly familiarize themselves with the conditions existing there.
