Description
RFP VA263-09-RP-0314Z - CONSTRUCTION - BUILDING 222 ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT STATEMENT OF ITEM(S):Location: Building 222, Near Fort Snelling, Bloomington Road, VAMCMinneapolis. Description:This project will accomplish the replacement of anexisting low slope roof at Building 222. The Scope of Work includes baseitem and two optional items. Base Item:1.Remove approximately 1400 square feet of low slope roof,flashing, and metal roof decking.2.Clean all 19 existing metal roof joists and the angle iron atfront of loading dock roof edge by sandblasting.3.After cleaning, inspect and repair existing metal roof joistsand the angle iron at front of loading dock roof edge where rust hasdeteriorated their condition.4.Repaint all 19 existing metal roof joists and the angle iron atfront of loading dock roof edge. Use two coats of a direct to metalcoating, Sherwin Williams DTM Acrylic Primer/Finish, or equal.5.Furnish and install approximately 1400 square feet of new metalroof decking.6.Furnish and install approximately 70 linear feet of new metalroof flashing to properly seal the new roof to the existing roof andbrick building on both ends of the low slope roof.7.Furnish and install approximately 1400 square feet of newroofing. Roofing type shall be SBS modified bitumen roofing system overrigid foam insulation.8.Remove all construction debris and leave project site in a cleanand neat condition. Use magnets to sweep for leftover fasteners.9.Provide temporary sanitary facilities for workers (Porta-Johns)during construction. Optional Items:10.Optional item #1: Contractor shall test existing roof joists forthe presence of lead based paint and provide the results to the COTR.Testing must be preformed by a Minnesota Department of Health (MDH)licensed Lead Inspector. If the testing proves the presence of leadbased paint, Optional item #2 will be pursued.11.Optional item #2: Contractor shall completely remove the leadbased paint and capture all sandblasting abrasive and removed paintmaterial and dispose of in accordance with Minnesota Department ofHealth (MDH) regulations. Provide COTR with documentation of disposal. In accordance with the VA Acquisition Regulations (VAAR 836.204)Disclosure of the Magnatude of Construction Projects, the range for thisproject is between $25,000 and $100,000. Liquidated Damages: $200.00per calendar day, including holidays and weekends. NAICS 238160 -$13.0M applies. This is a 100% Service Disabled Veteran Owned SmallBusiness set-aside in accordance with PL 109-461. All responsible and interested offerors should submit a proposal inaccordance with RFP VA263-09-RP-0314.
