Description
Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Telonics, Inc., a small business located in Mesa, CA. Telonics, Inc. will refurbish radio collars purchased from them in 2005. These collars shall include a Gen III GPS store-on-board with a CR-2A breakaway devise. This sole source justification is under authority of FAR 6.301-1(a)(2). The value of this contract is expected to be approximately $40,000. NAICS: 334220Size Standard: 750 employees The National Park Service (NPS), Denali National Park & Preserve require the following services: 1. Contractor shall receive the used Gen 3 GPS collars from NPS, disassemble them and retrieve those parts that are reusable.2. Contractor shall replace batteries, collar belting and disposable parts of the collar packages. 3. Contractor shall rebuild collars according to original specifications, including: GPS parameters,VHF beacon parameters, temperature sensing, startup behavior, appropriate colors, antenna placement and durability design as appropriate for the intended animal species. 4. Contractor shall program collar data collection schedules. 5. Contractor shall equip collars with CR-2a breakaway devices programmed. 6. Contractor shall test the collars in accordance with standard Telonics testing protocols, and ship them to NPS. The government will consider all expressions of interest (EOIs) received prior to 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis and before 4:00 pm Alaska standard time. EOIs send via the U.S. Postal Service should be mailed to: National Park Service, Alaska Regional Office, Attn: Erica Cordeiro, 240 W 5th Ave., Anchorage, AK 99501. EOIs sent via Federal Express or hand carried must be delivered to the same address above during weekdays, excluding federal holidays, between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:30 pm. EOIs may be submitted via facsimile to Erica Cordeiro at 907-644-3802 or via email at: Erica_Cordeiro@nps.gov. Facsimile transmittals must clearly identify this notice on the first page. Submitters bear the burden of ensuring that the EOI reaches the designated contracting office on time and should allow a reasonable time for facsimilie transmittals to be completed. All pages of the transmission must reach the office before the deadline specified and pages of a facsimile transmission that arrive in the office after the specified deadline will not be considered.
