Description

This is a synopsis for FY 2010 and FY 2011 United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK) Sea Based Strategic Deterrent (SBSD) Strategic Weapons System (SWS) fire control subsystem concept development, prototyping, and initial design efforts. The Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) intends to issue a contract on a sole-source basis to General Dynamics Advance Information Systems (GDAIS), 100 Plastics Avenue, Pittsfield, MA 01201-3698. This procurement will fulfill the engineering studies undertaken to support the Common Missile Compartment (CMC) Concept Development effort in FY 2010 and FY 2011, with unique domain expertise in submarine launched strategic missile fire control subsystems, including the TRIDENT II (D5) SWS. This effort is inextricably linked to work already being performed by GDAIS under Basic Ordering Agreement N00030-09-G-0013 Job Orders, which were awarded using other than full and open competition. This effort is intended to be incorporated and in addition to the efforts provided under Synopsis N00030-10-Q-0005. See Note 22.
