Description
RECOVERY: THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AAVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER W58XUW91686762. This is an American Recovery and Rehabilitation Act stimulus project. This solicitation is for removal and installation of approximately 7500 ft of 5-strand barbed wire fence and installation of approximately 2400 ft of a new 5-strand barbed wire fence at the Blue Rapids Levee at Blue Rapids, Kansas. The Corps of Engineers has some materials on site which will be used. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and extra materials needed to remove and install fence. All wooden posts, wire, pipe and clips must be replaced with new material. Steel T posts may be reused. The Contractor is responsible for disposal of old wire and posts. A site visit before bids are submitted is highly recommended. These can be arranged by calling 785-539-8511 X3164. The Contractor shall be responsible for replacing and installing all wood corner and brace post with new 6 to 8 x 8 pressure treated wood post. The contractor shall replace and install wood line posts with a new 4 to 5 x 8 pressure treated wood posts. The contractor shall use a minimum 1 7/8 Sch 40 pipe for H braces and double #9 smooth galvanized wire for brace wire. Wood posts shall be placed 3 6in ground with wire placement on levee side of post. Wood post sizes are given in inches of top diameter. Existing T posts may be pulled, turned 180 degrees and placed back in ground so wire can be placed on levee side of post. Install new wire clips on all T post. The 5, studded T post shall be placed a maximum 15 apart and placed in ground 1. The Contractor will also be responsible for clearing of vegetation and getting utility locates along the fence alignment. Clearing should be kept to the minimum necessary to construct fence. All clearing shall be done on the U.S. Government side of the boundary line. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIALS, APPROXIMATE Eight (8) rolls of barb wire 120 wood corner posts 30 wood line posts 100 Steel T posts 490 wire clips NO brace pipe Contractor Furnished Materials must match the material the Corps of Engineers has on site and all material must be made in America. Barbed wire shall be 2 point (spaced 4 apart), 12 gauge, galvanized Steel studded-T post (1.33 lb/ft) Wood post shall be pressure treated. Pipe cross brace, minimum 1 7/8 Sch 40 Brace wire, #9 galvanized Galvanized wire clips Government furnished material will be onsite for contractors viewing at the levee well house. There are many utilities on the site and should be located before any excavation works begins.
