- The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), Bethesda, MD has a requirement for one (1) laboratory grade glassware washer. The washer is to be used for cleaning a wide variety of laboratory glassware commonly used in medical research to include but not limited to large, small, wide, tall, and skinny flasks: long glass pipettes, small to large beakers, etc. It should incorporate a purified rinse cycle, fully automated. This feature is needed to ensure proper sterilization of the glassware. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to check the website for the issuance of any amendments/changes to the solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quotation (RFQ) incorporates all provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-36. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 423450, Medical, Dental, and Hospital Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers, with a size standard of 100 employees. This proposed combined synopsis/solicitation is 100% small business set-aside. This RFQ is FOB Destination with delivery and acceptance at the USUHS. The Government requires the best commercial warranty offered to the general public and to the vendor's best customer. This requirement is for a firm fixed-priced purchase order for the following Contract Line Item Numbers (CLIN) outlined as follows: CLIN, Description, and Quantity. CLIN 0001 Laboratory Glassware Washer Qty: 1 Point of Delivery: FOB Destination Location: Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences 4301 Jones Bridge Road Bethesda, MD 20814-4799 Minimum Specifications: The following requirements for the glassware washer are: Dimensions Specifications: External: 68" H x 31" W x 32.7" D Internal: 30.3" H x 24.4" W x 24.4" D General Specifications: Washer should be heavy-duty constructed to handle daily use with several washings per day. Washer must be able to fit through a doorway limited to 34" in width. Wash chamber load area should have different wash levels and movable racks to accommodate various shapes and size of glassware. Loading height should be a maximum of 26" to 30". The unit should have pre-programmed cleaning cycles and/or user defined cycles. Automatic detergent dispensing during wash cycle to include internal detergent storage. Drying function should include HEPA filtered feature for incoming air during drying process. Wash water temperature, minimum of 160 degrees F to 180 degrees F. In-House steam heated only. Gravity drain with cool-down feature. Installation or removal of old equipment will not be necessary. **IN THE PREPARATION OF THE QUOTE, PLEASE BE ADVISED USUHS REQUIRES THE QUOTE TO BE VALID UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 2009.** The Government will award to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the combined synopsis/solicitation, is most advantageous to the government, based on the price and other factors considered (e.g. quality, delivery, and warranty). Offerors must provide specifications and/or literature documentation of the glassware washer. To be eligible for contract award, a contractor must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. For instructions on registering with the CCR, please see the CCR web site at http://www.ccr.gov. All offerors are required to submit a completed copy of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Item, with the offer. Also, list your DUNS number and Cage Code Number. Please state if you will or will not accept VISA for payment.
