Description
1) Does the training have to be done by September 30 2009? Answer: The training needs to take place prior to Sept 30th. 2) Is the amount of day for the training (six 6)set or can they be changes? Explanation: To do a Technician level classes it would be five (5) day for rope and two (2) day for vehicle and two (2) days for evaluations. This would be a total of nine (9) days. Answer: Whatever it takes to meet the requirments. 3) Can the number of students be changed to 14 instead of 15? Explanation: We have to have a 7-1 student to instructor ratio. If there was only 14 then 2 instructors and two evaluators would be needed for a total of four(4). If 15 students were in the class them an additional instructor and evaluator would be needed for a total of six(6). This would add hundreds of dollars to the cost of the class. Answer: We can do 14. 4) The certification standard for Rescue Technician is 1006 not 1670. The classes have be taught to the 1006 standard. Answer: OK 5) Do they have all the rope rescue equipment needed for the class and is it within NFPA 1983 standards. Answer: Yes 6) In the Statement of Work in line item 4 there is referance to train the trainer classes. Are they looking for a T-N-T class? Explanation: NFPS does not have a certification for T-N-T. I do not do a T-N-T program because to insurance issues. Answer: No TtT 7). Do all the student have General Requirements if they are only doing V&M and Rope? It says all students are to the Rescue Tech level of Confined Space so is this just trained or do they have IFSAC or ProBoard for Confined Space? Having another level of Rescue Tech means they met General Requirements as long as it is an IFSAC or ProBoard Certificate. Answer: All students will have Confined Space and Rope Operations level certifications. 8). Is it correct to assume they will not being doing a Rescue 1, which is General Requirements, Confined Space, Rope and Vehicle and Machinery? Answer: The end goal is to have all students certified to the Rescue Technician I level. We need BroBoard or IFSAC certifications for Rope technician and Vehicle Machinery. All students already have Confined space and are certified to rope operations level. 9). The post says Rope level 1 and V&M level 1 under the 2003 edition, which there are no levels under the NFPA 1006 2003 edition. The levels are under the 2008 edition which most agencies have just switch or are in the process of to be compliant by March 2010 per ProBoard/IFSAC policy. SO which edition is looking to be tested? Then at the end it says the students will get Rope Rescue Technician so it is confusing what is being asked for. Answer: We want all of our students to be qualified to meet the Rescue 1 Technician level, if they are teaching the newer edition and we can get our certs then we will use that if they teach the older edition and we can get the certs then that will work as well. 10). Is the contract back to being a Train the Trainer course for the customer? Answer: No TtT 11). Are the firm in a 40 hour class for both levels as it will take 24 hour to test the two level of Rescue Tech along, so 16 hour is not enough time to teach them to the Technician level. Answer: However long it takes to reach the required training.
