- Description
- This publication serves as notice of intent to procure supplies for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) Seattle, WA. on a sole source basis with SeaKeepers Society Intl. The government intends to acquire supplies using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Proposed vendor will provide a ocean and weather monitoring system; a fully automated, modular, scientific data acquisition system that is designed to monitor weather and surface ocean conditions continuously with little or no staff time. The SeaKeepers Society Intl is the only known entity that produces this product with unique capabilities of: new innovation with interchangeable, modular sensors; self contained package design; Ferrybox Sensor Interface Standard; sensors that have been converted into flow-through designs housed in a cabinet in order to keep the delicate sensors less vulnerable to being damaged by ocean environment and do not require deployment by divers and finally a daily antifouling cycle where a chlorine gas is electrically generated. The government intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract with a period of performance that will start from date of award to final delivery in 2009. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. All responses must be in writing and may be faxed attention to Shannon McIlroy at 206-526-6025 or email at Shannon.C.McIlroy@noaa.gov.
