Description
RESPONSE TO QUESTIONS RECEIVED: Question 1 "Regarding Item 6, backfill of the basement, can CMB (crushed miscellaneous base) be used instead of dirt ? CMB has better compaction qualities than dirt." RESPONSE: Addemdum to the Statement of Work (issued under Amendment No. 2 to the Solicitation document, dated 08-03-2009) reads: "The Contractor shall import clean dirt and backfill basement footprint compacted to 90 percent." CMB WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Question 2: "Will you be providing the third party consultant for the asbestos removal work and the geotechnical engineer for the soil compaction ?" RESPONSE: Please review the Statement of Work, "Description of Work", Items "A" and "B" (which includes the demolition & removal of the dormitory building; and, the removal of asbestos containing building material). The awardee contactor is responsible to provide all services in complaince with all industry standards. Question 3: "Will the contractor gain any preference if he is Indian owned ? Do you have a list of Indian owned companies I can contact to request subcontract bids ?" RESPONSE: This procurement is "Full and Open Competition. At this time, there are no known Native American/Native Alaskan business entities. Question 4: "Who will issue demolition permits for this property and what will they cost ?" RESPONSE: Please review the solicitation document in its' entirety, including the Federal Acquisition Clauses for this solicitation / requirement. FAR Clause 52.236-07, "Permits and Responsibilities" states: "The Contractor shall, without additional expense to the Government, be responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses and permits, and for complying with any Federal State, and municipal laws, codes, and regulations, applicable to the performance of the work... " The bid amount is to inclusive of all costs for the requirement, including but not limited to, all applicable taxes, permits & fees, labor, supervision, demolition services, disposal services, etc.
