- RECOVERY--The work of this contract consists of two parts: The first part is the clearing of debris from the existing log boom and trash racks and placement, in neat piles 6 high minimum, in the log boom catchment storage area.The second part is to provide all material, labor and equipment needed to replace the existing log boom at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Franklin Falls Dam. The debris clearing requires the contractor to provide a crane and operator plus a debris pushing boat and a two man crew. The log boom replacement includes the removal and disposal of approximately 2900 feet of deteriorated 1 diameter galvanized steel wire rope cable and the furnishing and installing of new 1 diameter galvanized steel wire rope cable. Also included is the removal and reuse of approximately 81 log boom logs and the removal and disposal of 24 creosote treated logs. The contractor shall also supply and install 24 new pressure treated log boom logs The estimated cost of this procurement is between $25,000 and $100,000. This solicitation will be available on or about 4 September 2009 and will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov) which links to the FedTeds website (see below). Prospective contractors are required to self register their firm on the Internet to receive this solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the internet at https://www.fedteds.gov. Amendments, if any, will be available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests will be accepted. Registrants are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. This procurement is UNRESTRICTED. The applicable NAICS code is 237990 with a Small Business Size Standard of $33,500,000. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the New England District.
