- Description
- The proposed contract action is for supplies and installation of new overhead internal speaker system tie-in whti the existing nurse call system. New locations for installation are F-100 Emergency (ER), F-200 Muliti-Service Unit (MSU), F-300 Mother Baby Unit (MBU) and E-300 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Bldg 1, U S Naval Hospital, Guam. Under the authority of FAR 6.302, the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source (Core Tech International). FAR 46.706 Warranty terms and conditions (1) of previous job. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitve proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic orderring agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considerd solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competive procurement. (SEE STATEMENT OF WORK BELOW) Date: 2 August 2009 US NAVAL HOSPITAL, GUAM FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT I.STATEMENT of WORK: The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, design, supervision and incidental related work necessary for the procurement and installation of new overhead internal speaker system tie-in with the existing nurse call system at the following areas: F1 (ER), F2 (MSU), F3 (MBU) and E3 (ICU) of Building 1, US Naval Hospital, Guam. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: a.Provide and install new overhead speaker system and tied-in with the existing Nurse Call System recently installed. b.Replace damaged or soiled ceiling tiles resulted from project. c.Repair and touch-up disturbed paint resulted from project to include painting of new conduits installed to match existing surface. d.Perform operational check of the system to include the merging with the existing Nurse Call System and provide training. e.Clean up jobsite and dispose of debris. II.SPECIAL CONDITIONS: 1)Construction and procedures shall be in conformance with the latest OSHA and NFPA 101 and National Electric Code (NEC). 2)Any utility support/outages required accomplishing the procurement and installation of new overhead internal speaker system tie-in with the existing nurse call system at the following areas: F1 (ER), F2 (MSU), F3 (MBU) and E3 (ICU) of Building 1, U. S. Naval Hospital, Guam, shall be scheduled and coordinated with the BOS Contractor and prior notification shall be made to Naval Hospital Facilities Management Department. Any Cost for Utility Support shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. 3)Other incidental work required includes any and all items and considerations necessary to insure a complete and usable final product, including, but not limited to, the necessary design and construction considerations not specifically stated elsewhere in this statement of work. Complete and usable final product means that the completed final product can be used to fully satisfy the requirements and the intended purpose of this project. 4)Contractor shall provide 4 sets of Manufacturer Owner, Operational, Maintenance and Parts Manual to Naval Hospital Facilities Management Department. 5)Contractor shall schedule w/Facilities Management Department and provide training upon completion of work. III.REQUIRMENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD: 1)Pre-construction: Contractor will meet with the Facilities Management Department (FMD) representatives on elaborative efforts and means of the work or job to be accomplished. 2)ILSM: A meeting on Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) will be scheduled and conducted upon completion of Pre-Construction meeting. Representatives and officials from Naval Hospital Safety, Fire Safety, Infection Control, and Security will also be present at this meeting to ensure hospital requirements are adhered to and maintained at all times during construction. IV.CONTRACT WORK ACCEPTANCE: 1)The Facilities Contract Manager will perform a PRE-FINAL/quality assurance inspection. All discrepancies identified during pre-final will be re-worked and performed accordingly. 2)A FINAL INSPECTION will be performed, project cleared, and approved by Facilities Management Department before contractor is relieved from work or contracted job. ________________________________________ Point of Contact: Albert C.
