Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUCEMENT, FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) seeks information for the purpose of identifying potential HUB Zone qualified, small businesses capable of producing 157 Mk 749 Mod 0 Tri-Pack Containers, with an option for 90 more in FY11, in support of a requirement from the Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) Program. The MK 749 Mod 0 Tri-Pack Container is a build-to-print container for the storage and transport of the RAM MK 44/47 Guided Missile Round Pack (GMRP). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 332420 with a size standard of 500. This end item is for use by Foreign Military Sales Customers, German and US navies. The only special technical qualifications listed require that the Contractor have the capability to fill the container with air and measure the air pressure inside for 1/2 of an hour. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, BUT RATHER A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION from industry that will allow the Government to identify interested HUB Zone qualified, small business sources capable of meeting requirements. It is requested that information in response to this RFI be submitted No Later Than close of business on Friday, 4 September 2009 to Mr. Thomas Weis by e-mail at Thomas.Weis@navy.mil or by facsimile at (202) 781-4649. Interested parties may provide any information (e.g., specifications, brochures, product descriptions, identification of government contracts for similar products, etc.) that may or may not be used by the government to verify the respondent's capability of meeting requirements. Responses should also include the following: (1) business name and address, (2) business size, including average annual revenue for past three years and number of employees, (3) number of years in business, and (4) point of contact, including name, title, phone, fax and e-mail address. The information sought herein is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP) or as any obligation or commitment on the part of the Government to acquire any product or service. There shall be no basis for claims against the Government as a result of any information submitted in response to this RFI. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for any information submitted by respondents to this request.
