- Description
- Scope of Work Football field lighting inadequate: Findings: The existing site lighting at the perimeter of the football field is not in very stable condition. One of six wooden poles had been broken by the wind and two poles are cracked. All five existing wooden poles are leaning toward the field. These poles carry two sets of light fixtures. The lower set consists of four flood lights utilized for security lighting and the higher set consists of six flood lights utilized during the games. Several flood security light fixtures are deteriorated beyond repair. Also, the center concerned that these 60' poles are too high and directing lights toward the surrounding neighborhood. Recommendations: Replace existing remaining five 60' wooden poles with six 50' pressure treated wooden poles with two cross arms each. Reuse existing pole-mounted HID flood lights and HID security lights; mount them on the new poles. Locate security lights 20' above the ground level. Provide 10 pole-mounted approximately 150W energy-efficient HID security lights similar to the existing type to replace deteriorated fixtures and also provide 4 light fixtures for the additional pole. Provide 6 pole-mounted approximately 750W energy-efficient HID flood lights for sport lighting similar to the existing type for the additional pole. (Provide each pole with six flood lights and four security lights). Reconnect new poles utilizing existing wiring and providing new wiring as required by NEC. Strategically locate a photocell for ease of maintenance and control of security lights. Flood lights to be controlled from the existing disconnect switch. For cost estimate, also assume the installation of 1000 LF of 3 #6 and 1 #10 ground.
