This is a RESTRICTED ACQUISITION for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms. The NAICS Code is 236220 and the Size Standard is $33.5M. SOLICITATION NUMBER: FA8601-09-B-0011 The project scope includes replacement of the HVAC system and the installation of a wet pipe fire suppression system for this approximately 29,000 square foot building. The HVAC system will include the air handling unit, ductwork, diffusers, and return air grills on all three levels (basement, 1st and 2nd floors. The building does not currently contain a fire suppression system. The current fire detection system will be removed, and a wet pipe fire suppression system installed. This work will entail bringing a new water service into the building to support the new sprinkler riser and branch lines for all three levels. Subsequently, the suspended ceiling and the lay-in light fixtures will be replaced. Rework of interior walls and electrical circuits is also part of the project scope. Installers are required to be certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET). Thorough knowledge and experience is also required in National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) codes. Normal scheduling and coordination between trades will be required for the successful execution of this project. Magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 dollars. In accordance with FAR 4.1102 and DFARS 252.204-704 "Required Central Contractor Registration," Contractor must be registered in CCR prior to award. Registration may be accomplished at http://www.ccr.gov. NOTES: 1. The solicitation, specifications, and drawings will be available on the World Wide Web on or about 11 June 2009 at: http://www.fbo.gov. The tentative date for bid opening is 4 August 2009. The period of performance is 300 days. 2. Copies of the specification and drawings will be available for inspection at Dayton Builders Exchange, Minority Contractors Business Assistance Program, and F. W. Dodge Division. No other hard copies will be available. 3. There is no fee for this solicitation. 4. A registration page will be attached to the web site. You are not required to register. However, when you register, you will receive notice of any amendments and/or addenda that may be issued to the solicitation. If you have not registered, it will be your responsibility to check the web site for any changes to the solicitation. 5. You shall provide a signed copy of the SF 1442 at the time and place specified in the solicitation for bid opening. There will be a public bid opening at Building 818, Area A, Wright-Patterson AFB. Sealed envelopes containing bids shall be marked to show the bidder's name and address, the solicitation number, and the date and time bids are due. 6. Contractors that are Debarred, Suspended, or Proposed for Debarment are excluded from receiving contracts. Agencies also shall not consent to subcontract with these contractors. 7. This is a WPAFB Construction Contracting (PKJ) program. The current status is Pre-Solicitation and it is a Category Z - Maintenance, repair, and alteration of real property program.
