- Description
- Request for Information USAF MILSTAR LNA The Government is performing market research on potential sources for a re-engineering effort of the Low Noise Amplifier, NSN:5996-01-525-2212 and PN: G287462. The redesign of the LNA must result in a form, fit, function, and interface direct replacement of the existing LNA. The LNA performs two major functions: The LNA amplifies the received signal and it also downconverts the frequency. RF energy is received by the antenna and immediately amplified to a usable level using the LNA. The redesign for the LNA must result in a complete engineering data package delivered to the Government suitable for future procurement of the LNA from third party manufacturing, and will allow an organic repair capability to be established. Deliverables shall include 4 fully functional LNAs, test plans, test procedures, prototype testing, and prototype test reports. The re-engineered LNA shall maintain the original LNA's Form, Fit, Function and Interface (F3I). The LNA has nuclear hardness requirements. Any potential offerors will need to demonstrate adequate knowledge of nuclear design techniques, appropriate testing and must have the resources for accommodating classified information. This notification is for market research purposes to identify potential offerors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required to successfully complete this effort for the Air Force and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement will be accomplished. This is not a request for proposal or invitation for bid. To be considered as a re-engineering source for this requirement, the offeror will be required to submit technical data, in response to a solicitation, verifying their capabilities to re-engineer this item. The offeror will be required to verify to the Government that the item will be Form, Fit, Function and Interface (F3I). Respondents to this request will be retained in a file and subsequently provided a copy of the Request for Proposal (RFP) when issued. Responding to this request in no manner guarantees a contract will be awarded to the respondent for the manufacture/supply of this item. All information received in response to this announcement that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.202(e), a response to this notice is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this announcement. Interested parties may contact Scott Haymore. Engineering data in support of this synopsis can also be obtained by contacting Scott Haymore 415 SCMS/GUMBA. The request can be emailed to scott.haymore@hill.af.mil. This request for data should contain the synopsis number, a reference to "Sources Sought", a copy of the offeror's DD Form 2345 and a list of the drawings that are needed. Please within 14 days after posting date.
