Description
NOAA's Marine Operation Center Pacific has a requirement for drydock ship repairs to the NOAA ship Oscar Dyson. The contractor shall provide all supervision, material, and labor necessary to perform modifications, repairs, and preservation to the NOAA vessel Oscar Dyson. The drydock work will be accomplished at the contractor's facility. Performance of work is scheduled to begin on or about November 9, 2009 and be completed no later than January 5, 2010. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this procurement is 336611 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. The work consists of approximately 24 basic items, and 19 option items. Basic work may include, but is not limited to: Underwater body inspection and repair, rudder removal inspection and repair, tail shaft, stern tube bearing and shaft seal inspections and repairs, line shaft, stern tube bearing and shaft seal inspections and repairs, line shaft bearing inspections, anchor chain inspection and repair, air-pipe closure value inspection and repair, bow thruster inspection and repair, anitproll tank quieting, replace cathelco anodes of sea-chest and bow thruster intake, crane, davit and A-frame repair and weight testing, repair and replace ventilation system fans, hull sea water valve repairs/replacement/cleaning, paint ships waterline, hydraulic piping repair, modification and valve additions, ventilation cleaning, replace deck covering in FWD section of wet lab, door repairs, replace and add sound isolation machinery mounts, miscellaneous piping system repairs and alterations, industrial support for ship inclining, and replace search lights. • General Vessel specifications: Length (LOA): 68.3 m (209 ft); Breadth: 15.0 m (49.2 ft); Full load Displacement: 2,479 metric tons. A pre-bid inspection can be arranged by contacting the Contract Specialist at the e-mail address provided below. All responsible and fully responsive sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price contract. Solicitation documents will be made available for download on or about September 10, 2009 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be issued.
