Description
On behalf of the Office of Armament Research, Development andEngineering Center (ARDEC), the US Army Contracting Command Joint Munitions & Lethality Contracting Center CCJM-JA Center at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for one EM61-Lite unit and associated spare parts. These items will be used to support EM61-Lite units currently operating in theater and to provide a training unit for newly deployed soldiers in theater. The required delivery schedule is 60 days after receipt of order (ARO). The type of contract contemplated is a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to 3DGEOPHYSICS.COM, as it is the only manufacturer of the EM61-Lite and it owns the data rights to this design, is already in production and has the capability to supply the necessary product in a timeframe that maintains the Governments schedule (in accordance with the authority at FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)). All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency if received timely. The Government will make only one award as a result of the Request for Quotation (RFQ). The primary location for the performance of work under this contract will be at the contractors site. The Government will utilize the policies contained in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The RFQ is planned for release on or about 15 days after publication of this notice. The award will consist of a base period of 60 days ARO with no option years. Award is anticipated on or about 22 September 2009. Applicable FSC is 6665, NAICS is 334519. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement
