- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to procure, on a competitive basis, CLIN 0001: a quantity of sixty-six (66), SAS 3-GB/s 450-GB Hard Drive with the following specifications: Interface: SAS 3Gb/s, Cache: 16MB, Capacity: 450 GB, Areal density (average): 165 Gbits/inch 2; physical specifications as follows: Height (maximum): 26.11 mm (1.028 inches), Width (maximum): 101.85 mm (4.010 inches), Length (maximum): 146.99 mm (5.787 inches), Weight (typical): 709 grams (1.53 pounds); Performance: Spindle Speed: 15,000 rpm, Average latency: 2.0 msec, Random read seek time: 3.4 msec, Random write seek time: 3.9 msec; Reliability: MTBF: 1,600,000 hours, Annual Failure Rate: 0.55%; Power: 12V start max current: 4.56 amps, 5V start max current: 1.95 amps. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334112 and the small business size is 1000 employees. This requirement is set-aside for Small Business participation. The order shall be a firm fixed price purchase order. Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) will be utilized for award. Offerors must propose in accordance with this synopsis to be eligible for award. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Award will be determined on technical acceptability and price. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ISSUE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR QUOTATION AS THE ITEM IS IDENTIFIED IN THIS NOTICE. FOB destination to Virginia Beach, Virginia shall apply. All interested parties must meet the delivery date of 5 December 2009 for entire quantity of sixty-six (66), SAS 3-GB/s 450-GB Hard Drive. The closing date of this synopsis is 28 August 2009. Anticipated award is 11 September 2009. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren Laboratory Procurement Division has implemented Electronic Commerce (EC) in the acquisition area; therefore, this synopsis and any applicable amendments will be available on the World Wide Web at http://www.nswc.navy.mil/ /SUPPLY.
