Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE: The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office intends to acquire SERVICE FROM SEA SERVICES LEADERSHIP ASSOC (52ZV0) FOR SPONSORSHIP FOR THEIR ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND A MARKETING/RECRUITING OPPORTUNITY FO RTHE NAVY'S OFFICE OF WOMEN'S POLICY. Service will be performed in WASHINGTON, DC area with select training events to be held in Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA. Period of Performance is 29 SEP 2009 through 28 SEP 2010. THIS PROCUREMENT IS A SOLE SOURCE ACQUISITION WITH SEA SERVICES LEADERSHIP ASSOC located in POWDER SPRINGS, GA under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Sea Services is the only organization providing training, education, networking, mentoring and advocacy for women in the sea services to include the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Their services directly support CNO programmatic initiatives on improved women's retention in critically manned operational specialties. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all proposals received within SEVEN (3) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. We anticipate awarding a firm fixed price contact. This requirement is in support of the CHIEF OF NAVY PERSONNEL, Washington, DC.
